Health and Acne: How to Cleanse Skin Properly

Proper skin cleansing plays an important role in maintaining healthy skin and helping to manage acne.

Washing your face the right way can remove excess oil, dirt, and impurities that build up throughout the day, which may contribute to clogged pores and breakouts. However, cleansing too harshly or too often can also irritate the skin and make acne worse.

A gentle approach is often best. Start by using lukewarm water, as hot water may strip the skin of its natural moisture and cause dryness. Choose a mild cleanser that is suitable for your skin type, especially if your skin is sensitive or prone to acne. When applying the cleanser, use clean hands and gently massage it into the skin using soft circular motions. Avoid scrubbing too hard, as this can damage the skin barrier.

After cleansing, rinse thoroughly to ensure no residue is left behind, then gently pat the skin dry with a clean towel instead of rubbing. It is also helpful to cleanse the face twice daily, once in the morning and once before bed, to keep the skin balanced. Consistency and gentle care can support clearer, healthier-looking skin over time without unnecessary irritation or dryness.
